Through the Airwaaaaaaves...

Our wonderful friend and adopted step-dad Michael Duane (Dust Devils, Atlantic Drone, Ancients, Assisi House) is going to spin Estate on the Bradford, UK community radio tomorrow. Since 'Estate' is about the homeless and Michael's job is promoting awareness & assistance with and of this issue it is a pretty good fit.
it's 1:30 pm EST... it's tight here too...[-he is responding top my message about how our shelters are overflowing in Charlotte].

we're starting at an hostel for battered women in a couple of weeks, feel a bit out of my depth with that, at least i've got Tori with me... one of the soundest women i've met in a long while, damn glad i employed her... i knew there must be a reason...

i'll make a post about the radio tomoz... it's mostly stuff we've recorded on the road visiting all these hostels... & some of the stuff is rather good... & the stories behind them are emblazoned on my brain...

Mxxx

So apparently we are going from 'Therapy' on 106.5 FM Sunday to 'Estate' on 106.6 FM Thursday (tune in on the www at 1:30pm EST). Hey we only had to traverse one ocean to go up 100,00 Hertz. Oh well the ONLY important thing is that it might help bring some attention to the issue of the homeless and hopefully get some people to help out.

What if we tried out a drummer?

What would people think? Would it be surrender? Would it be victory? Would it hurt? Would we become an option for them while they became a priority for us? Would we become dependent and suffer withdrawals? Would it require larger doses of drums to achieve the same effect after a period of use? Would this be a gateway instrument that caused us to end up begging on the street for spare change to tempt that ace bandeneon player? Would the convention of having a drummer birth other conventions? Would we start doing Meat Loaf covers? Bar Mitzvahs? Would we get in arguments about which ZZ Top albums were REALLY the important ones? Would I go looking for someone like Phil Collins (only because he has worse hair than I do)? What would become of the little synthy bits we use to cover up the 8 beats of count-in starting a song? Why not hire a horn section? Some gospel singers? A !#*%+$^ marching band?
Just wondering...
